Head Chef

As a Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in creating a culinary experience that aligns with our retail offer. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations & Company Management Team, you will be responsible for developing and executing food dishes of exceptional quality. Your role will encompass overseeing the food preparation process, providing regular and recorded training for the kitchen team, and managing a dynamic team of chefs at various levels.

  • Work closely with the Head of Operations in developing food dishes
    appropriate to the retail offer
  • Controlling and directing the food preparation process
  • Regular recorded training & development of your kitchen team
  • Managing and working closely with other Chefs of all levels
  • Creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes ensuring variety and
    quality
  • Determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
  • Ultimately responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations
    including sanitary and food safety guidelines
  • Being responsible for health and safety
  • Being responsible for food hygiene practices
  • Excellent knowledge of all sections
  • Ability to produce excellent high-quality food

Minimum qualifications and experience (not essential at time of employment;
however expected to complete in the first 12 months of service)

  • City & Guilds 706/1 | 706/2 Catering
  • NVQ Level 3
  • Level 1,2 and 3 Food Safety Awards
  • Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Award
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a Head Chef role
  • Awareness of manual handling techniques
  • Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations
    (COSHH) and chemical safety
  • Experience of kitchen equipment handling and operating
  • Experience of dangerous equipment such as knives
  • Competent level of English spoken and written
