Bar & Waiting Staff

Reporting to Manager or shift supervisor


Your Objective:
To deliver friendly, efficient customer service and to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all of our customers, with the key aim of retaining and attracting new customers.

You must:

  • Have proof of the right to work in the UK.
  • Have a UK bank account in your own name.
  • Be able to converse in English.
  • Have a fixed place of residence and live within a reasonable traveling distance of the pub.
  • Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
  • Ensure you always “upsell” food and drink products as instructed by your line manager.
  • Serve all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in correct glassware that is clean and free from scratches or chips.
  • Serve and present hot non-alcoholic beverages quickly and efficiently, meeting our standards.
  • Assist in keeping the front-of-house and toilets clean and tidy at all times.
  • Keep up to date with current promotions and new products.
  • Make customers aware of offers on our great food and drink range.
  • Speak to customers to ensure that they are satisfied with their meals.
  • Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-house training and workbooks.
  • Always adhere to all company policies and procedures and licensing laws.
  • Be involved and contribute at team meetings.
  • Carry out instructions given by the management team and head office.

Training:

  • Assist the General Manager in implementing regular staff training and inductions for new employees.
  • Ensure all staff have read and understand their job descriptions.
  • Ensure staff are fully compliant with company policies and regulations as demonstrated in the staff handbook.
 

General Housekeeping:

  • Ensure all working areas, storerooms, and cellars are kept clean and tidy before and at the end of your shift.
  • Ensure all opening and closing procedures are adhered to and signed off at the end of each shift.
  • Report any issues with equipment or health & safety immediately.
  • Assist in weekly line cleaning as required and observe all health and safety protocols at all times.
  • Ensure stock levels are maintained in bottle coolers and rotated in best before date order.
  • Respect your team colleagues at all times.
